After their 5-1 thrashing of London rivals Crystal Palace was marred by Bukayo Saka’s injury, Mikel Arteta has revealed a second Arsenal coup ahead of their next match against Ipswich Town.
Perhaps silencing some skeptics, Arsenal were in a scoring-free mood from the start against Palace with the revived Gabriel Jesus stealing the show for the second time in a week against Palace. Scoring twice, the Brazilian suddenly came to life at the perfect time for the Gunners and was joined by Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli on the scoresheet.

Arsenal may have won 5-1, but it wasn’t all positive for the Gunners against Crystal Palace.
However, Arsenal’s day was far from perfect, with Saka limping around with what appeared to be a hamstring injury before being photographed leaving Selhurst Park on crutches in worrying scenes for Arteta amid such a schedule. agitated
Speaking about the injury, Arteta told reporters as broadcast by Fabrizio Romano: “We are quite worried about Saka’s injury. He grabbed his hamstring and couldn’t continue. “We will have to evaluate it but we are quite worried, yes.”
But he is not the only one that worries the Spaniard. As confirmed by Arteta, Raheem Sterling has given Arsenal another injury scare and now he could miss the Ipswich game, which means he will also not be able to count on his possible replacement for Saka.
Arteta told reporters through Connor Humm: “Yesterday we lost Raheem (Sterling), and we don’t know for how long either.”
Arsenal, who have already struggled in open play at times this season, will have a big battle on their hands if they are forced to move forward without Saka and an ideal replacement in Sterling. That said, the latter’s injury almost sums up his struggle to make an impact since arriving on loan from Chelsea in the summer.
While a loan deal to sign the £163,000-a-week winger was relatively risk-free, some in north London may have believed Sterling would have already made his mark. The Gunners are crying out for a world-class left-back, but it is clearer than ever that Sterling is no longer the player capable of providing it despite hogging the headlines for so many years in the Premier League.
With his best days arguably behind him, Sterling has started just two Premier League games and his only goal for Arsenal came in a 5-1 thrashing of Bolton Wanderers. With Saka injured, there would arguably have been an opportunity for the former Manchester City star to prove the doubters wrong, only for Sterling to suffer his own ill-timed knock.
Among those who perhaps waited a little longer is arteta. The Spaniard praised Sterling in September, telling reporters as reported by Arsenal Insider: “He looks great. First of all, because he has a big smile on his face, a lot of energy, he’s into it and he wants to prove his point.
“When someone has that in their stomach, you feel it immediately. Obviously I don’t need to find out anything about his quality and what he can bring to the team.”
