The Arsenal has confirmed that striker Kai Hvertz will undergo surgery in an injury to the hamstrings and face a battle to be fit for the beginning of the next season.
The German International suffered the injury at the rest of the middle of the Gunners season in Dubai and will be put under the knife in the next few days.
His absence for the rest of this campaign is a great blow to Arsenal, which no longer has a lot of attack options.
A medical update about Kai Hvertz.

The statement said: “We can confirm that Kai Hvertz has suffered an injury in the hamstrings during a training session in Dubai last week.
“Subsequent evaluations and specialized reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the next few days. Shortly after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, which is expected to extend to preseason preparations for next season.
“Everyone at the club are completely focused on supporting Kai to make sure it returns to full aptitude as soon as possible.”
Hvertz has played the role of Arsenal’s main striker for much of the season, although he briefly returned to the center of the field when Gabriel Jesus was preferred in the attack.
However, with the Brazilian suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury last month, Hvertz was displayed again in the field with mixed results.
The German International has scored 15 goals and added five assists in 34 appearances in all competitions this season, but has also lost 15 great opportunities in the Premier League, the third most with Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea and only behind Erling Haaland (18) and Aston of Manchester City (18) and Aston. Ollie Watkins de Villa (19).
Watkins was the subject of an offer of £ 60 million by Arsenal towards the end of the transfer window, but Villa chose to keep the international of England and, instead, sell Jhon last next to Saudi Arabia al-nassr.
Arsenal has suffered injuries in attack areas throughout the season.
The end of England, Bukayo Saka, joined the training in Dubai, but is not expected to play until March, while Gabriel Martinelli is also out for a month with a problem of the hamstring.
Arsenal is the second in the Premier League, seven points from Liverpool leaders, and is going to Leicester City on Saturday.
