Apple is reportedly trying to make a giant wrinkle-free foldable iPad

According to Mark Gurman in the In this weekend’s newsletter, Apple is developing a foldable device with a screen that opens to almost 20 inches. Not only will the device be huge, but Apple is also working to make it wrinkle-free when opened, Gurman reports, something other companies haven’t accomplished with their own foldable devices. Apple’s prototypes “have an almost invisible crease,” he writes, but it hasn’t completely disappeared. The report comes about a week after a which described a similar device with an 18.8-inch screen that will supposedly be released between 2028 and 2030. Gurman predicts that the foldable device will run on “iPadOS or a variant thereof.”
