Alexander Isak has issued a statement in which he says he is always “grateful” Newcastle after his controversial departure to Liverpool.
Isak’s restless confrontation with the Tyneside Club ended yesterday with the Premier League Liverpool champions paying a British record of £ 125 to sign the Sweden International.
He has left behind a bitter fans base, but Isak went to Instagram this afternoon to offer his gratitude after three years at St James’ Park.
He wrote: “I want to express my gratitude to my teammates, the staff and, above all, the city of Newcastle and all the incredible supporters of the unforgettable three years we share together.
“Together, we have written the story and we take the club to the place where it really belongs. It has been an honor to be part of the trip from reaching the Champions League to win the first trophy in more than 70 years.
“Always grateful. Thank you, Newcastle.”
The publication is accompanied by a video that shows a compilation of Isak’s objectives, as well as the images of the celebrations that followed their EFL Cup victory over Liverpool earlier this year.
Isak is currently in international service, but it is very unlikely that his message will be gained to followers furious because of the way he was handled during the last stages of his career in Newcastle.
The 25 -year -old made his desire to leave, with Chief Eddie Howe ordering him to train alone and was not considered for the first three Premier League games of the season, none of which Newcastle has won.
The followers have labeled it as a ‘rat’ on social networks, and the term is also used in banners that have appeared around the St James park.
However, he has received messages of support from two former Newcastle teammates today, with Sven Botman and Anthony Gordon sending their best wishes.
Botman International from the Netherlands wrote on Instagram: “What began as teammates grew up in one of my rare best friendships. No more words were needed, all the best in their next chapter @alex_isak (sic).”
That feeling was backed by the end of England Gordon, who published: “Regardless of the situation and what happened. It has been a pleasure to play with you.
“One of the best chemicals I have had in the field and, more importantly, a great person and teammate.
“I wish you anything more than the best brother.”
However, Isak agent, Vado Lemic, gave a different tone, however, pointing what seemed to be a farewell photo in Newcastle.
In a message sent to Talksport, Lemic said: “It’s good when you have someone to be with, but it’s even more pleasant when you know who you will never be again.”
