In an interview with DeadlineCostner weighed in on his rumored feud with show creator Taylor Sheridan.

Reports suggested the pair clashed because the actor wanted a say in how his character would end. Costner also reportedly faced scheduling conflicts when he began filming his western series Horizon: An American Saga.

“I haven’t felt good this past year, the way they talked about it. It wasn’t sincere,” Costner said, referring to the blame he received for the behind-the-scenes drama.

“I made a contract for seasons five, six and seven. In February, after a two or three month negotiation, they made another contract,” he explained. “They wanted to remake that one, and instead of seasons six and seven, it was 5A and 5B, and maybe we’ll do six. They couldn’t do them. Horizon was established in the middle, but Yellowstone was first. I fit (Horizon) into the gaps. “They just kept moving their holes.”

“If you know me well enough, I made Yellowstone the first priority, and to imply anything else would be a mistake,” he explained in his talk with Deadline. “I didn’t initiate any of those things. They did. They were tap dancing…I don’t know why they didn’t defend me.”

(Costner) said, ‘I don’t know about you, but I’m really scared. So why don’t we come together as best we can?’ we can, and make this happen, and support each other.'”

Richards noted that Costner’s speech made “the stress disappear from the room” and that “it was a beautiful thing.”
