Stanton, 35, previously dated Bellinger’s longtime partner, Chase Carterand MLB fans can’t get over it. Especially after the news that Bellinger, 29, was headed to the Yankees.
On Tuesday, December 17, it was announced that Bellinger had been acquired by the Yankees after a two-year stint with the Chicago Cubs. After the trade was announced, MLB fans quickly reviewed Stanton’s dating history, revealing that he and Carter, 27, had a romantic connection in the past.
While Stanton and Carter never openly discussed their relationship, eagle-eyed baseball fans noticed the illustrated sports model sitting next to another Yankees star Aaron judgethe now wife, Samantha Bracksieckduring a 2019 game. That same year, Carter and Stanton were photographed attending an event together in New York City. It’s unclear what really happened between them, but Carter was romantically linked to Bellinger the following year.

“Cody Bellinger’s wife is Giancarlo Stanton’s ex. The Bronx is on fire,” one fan shared via X on Monday after news of the Bellinger trade became public. Others shared a apparent photo from instagram story Carter posted in the past, which showed her holding Stanton’s hand.
Another social media user added: “By the way, Cody Bellinger’s wife is Giancarlo Stanton’s ex. “Talk about culture in the clubhouse.”

The couple celebrated their one-year anniversary in July 2021 and announced that Carter was pregnant with their first child. Their daughter Caiden was born in November of that year.
In October 2022, Carter announced that she and Bellinger were expecting their second child. “Caiden and Junior’s brother is on the way,” he shared via Instagram at the time, referring to his daughter and dog. Their second daughter, Cy, was born in April 2023.
“Cody caught her. Cy was a twin,” Carter captioned. an Instagram post in May 2023 by sharing the story of his birth. “Unfortunately, his twin didn’t survive (we also didn’t know there were twins until the placenta was delivered), but we’re very lucky Cy did.”
Bellinger proposed to Carter in June 2023. The model announced the news through social networks, showing off her giant diamond ring. Several outlets reported that they got married in December 2023, but neither Bellinger nor Carter confirmed their marriage yet. However, Carter has since changed his Instagram name to Chase Bellinger.
