Enrique praises Strasbourg’s performance after the exciting draw in Paris

PSG coach Luis Enrique praised Strasbourg after his team bounced back to claim a point in Ligue 1 on Friday night.

Despite leading 1-0 in Paris, the visitors recovered, taking a surprising 3-1 lead and surprising the home crowd in the French capital.

But, as always, PSG were dangerous until the last minute, scoring two late goals to take a point and spare them any blushes.

It was a rare bad night for the champions, who were without Ballon d’Or winner Ousamen Dembélé.

But Enrique made no excuses for his team’s performance that night and was full of praise for his opposite coach, Liam Rosenior.

Speaking after the match, he said: “I like the way Liam is playing with this team. I knew how difficult the match would be.

“This season I have to manage the pre- and post-international break. I have to control the physical load of my players. The goals conceded? We had a good start to the game.

“We showed our superiority with and without the ball. The end of the first half was worse, we suffered. The intensity was better in the second half.

“The final part of the game was very positive, it’s a shame because the fans were incredible, they deserved more.

“No coach likes to concede three goals. I seek to improve my work. I have the opportunity to obtain a lot of information.

“We were superior, we were able to score the goals. It was very even, tough. They are a young team, but a very good team.”
