The perfect psychological science fiction thriller has no special effects, or script, or crew

Imagine that you are at a dinner with old friends, drinking wine and waiting to see a heavenly event. The night feels ordinary until the power goes out through the neighborhood, leaving only a house in the illuminated distance. Two of his friends are heading to borrow a phone but return shaken, unable to explain what has just happened.

This is the configuration for 2013 CoherenceA science fiction thriller without special effects, without script and without crew, but drag your imagination to such dark places that you don’t need anything else to feel your concern.

The anguish comes from inside the house, but not this house

While its initial configuration feels clumsy, Coherence Quickly take off. A group of friends realizes that they are trapped in a cosmic anomaly linked to infinite alternative realities, using Schrödinger’s problem as their reference point. Anyone who leaves the house returned changed, or possibly replaced, suggesting that the Doppelgangers of the nearby time lines have gotten into.

Trust dissolves while trying to track events in real time, just to discover that their counterparts are doing the same in overlapping realities. Each plan collapses under the weight of parallel actions, which makes it impossible to know who belongs to which timeline.

In the end, nobody knows if they are still in the same house where they started, how long they have been there or if people outside are friends or strangers. Seeing it develop, you are just as lost, because the changes are subtle until the characters themselves together.

The less you know, the better

Coherence Prospera in disorientation. Written from a 12 -page treatment by James Ward Byrkit, the actors were only told the objectives and motivations of their own character before improvising each scene. Byrkit whispered unique instructions to his co -star, creating a tension without script that feels authentic in a way that no script could.

His only stumbling arrives early. When I first pressed the game, I thought the configuration was lazy: each character knows about the heavenly event, even though it was not his field. But since the film never crosses a clear timeline, it is possible that they have already been trapped in the more time cycle than they realize. That little complaint fades quickly once the night becomes chaos.

Do not let the family framing deceive you. It is there to give you a last sense of normality before the ground falls completely.
