The Democratic Chamber criticizes partisan reactions to the murder of Charlie Kirk

EXCLUSIVE: A Democrat of the Moderate Chamber said he believes that both the Republicans and his own party have fallen short in their responses to the murder of Charlie Kirk.

“I am disappointed. I would like there to be more effort as a group, Democrats and Republicans, to express condolences for his family and for him, and express the true sadness that he begets,” said representative Tom Suozzi, Dn.y., to Fox News Digital in an interview.

He later warned: “Punch, Counter-Punch is the natural reaction of most human beings. But we cannot continue doing this. It is very destructive and is a path to ruin.”

Suzzi said he believed that leaders, in particular, on both sides of the hall they needed to do more.

“I don’t think there has been enough effort to try to unite,” he said.

The New York legislator was one of the few democrats attended by a commemorative vigil in Kirk’s honor called by the president of the representatives, Mike Johnson, Republican of La-La., In the Capitol of the United States on Monday.

The leader of the minority of the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y., told journalists that he did not attend because “he had a meeting.”

But Suzzi said he spoke with several Democrats from the House of Representatives who said they simply did not know what was happening.

“I am not blaming anyone, Democrats or Republicans. I do not know the facts in what kind of dissemination it was done,” said Suzzi.

The scrutiny intensifies on security lapses surrounding Charlie Kirk’s shooting

“I know that I talked to several members, you know, (Democrats) that I know they attend the bipartisan prayer breakfast, for example. And they said: ‘Oh, I didn’t even know'”.

Both Jeffries and Johnson have made calls to the unit following the murder of Kirk last week, and legislators have expressed the bipartisan condemnation of political violence.

But partisan tensions have exploded since then, with the Republicans blaming the Democrats for their anti-Calumnia rhetoric and for promoting the political tension that led to Kirk’s death.

The Democrats, in turn, have accused the Republicans of inflaming tensions in a similar way both before and after the murder.

In the house, the scrutiny has focused on the representative Ilhan Omar, D-minn., After an interview with the progressive news media Zeteo, where the conservatives have accused her of belittling Kirk’s legacy days after her death.

“There are many people who are talking about that they just want to have a civil debate,” Omar said. “There is nothing more effective, you know, that completely pretending that, you know, their words and actions have not registered and exist during the last decade more or less.”

The Progressive of Minnesota also called the death of Kirk “deadly” and expressed his condolence for his wife and young children.

The representative Nancy Mace, RS.C., is now moving to force a vote to censor Omar for her comments, a movement that Suzzi called “very useless.”

When asked about Omar’s comments, Suzzi did not mention it directly, but said: “I I simply do not think that this is the time to try to incite more anger for people. “

If I could comment to Kirk’s vigil, for example, Suozzi said: “I would say that I did not know Charlie Kirk or much about him before this incident. But, like everyone else, I have been seeing all the media reports since his murder, and I saw a couple of times different times that people would ask him, ‘What would he want to be remembered?’ And he said: “I want you to remind me of having the courage to live my faith.”

“One of the most difficult concepts that Jesus had was to love your enemies,” Suozzi said. “And that’s what we must do right now.”

Suzzi also blamed the current environment of social networks for promoting divisions.

“We have to understand that there are very strong forces that work against us at this time. Social networks are, you know, be corrupted, I think, not only for our foreign adversaries, but also by people trying to obtain political or financial profits,” he said.

“I think we have to be very aware of the fact that there are people who use our freedom of expression and use our social networks … that they are only lying and presenting manipulated videos and explosive comments to hate us …”.
