A young professional has opened about the clear difference between his internship and his full -time role, which caused a broader conversation about work culture in India.
“I went with a different team, that was really an incredible period. Good team, good breaks and good job,” the employee recalled.
But after joining full time, reality changed. “The team in which I joined full time is strange. I work too much.
Even breaks for lunch are rushed. “The breaks for lunch go in 15 minutes, they return and work. My previous team went out to walk/play football.”
On weekends either, said the employee, they are not saved. “They already made us work on Saturdays. Some even work on Sundays (with the name that it is Sprint, they need more efforts).”
The most acute criticism was reserved for leadership. “The project manager is the worst person to be a prime minister, he does not even know how to plan things correctly and really strange the PM that I had during my internship.”
The publication ends with a more important question: “So, is almost any other Indian company? Or is it because I am out of college, could it be so?”
The account touched an chord with others online. A comment said: “These are the people who provide toxicity in the team.” Another asked bluntly: “Extend hours for what? These are typical Lala companies.”
