The Police of the Czech Republic finally arrested the driver of a Formula 1 racing car that had been seen on the highway on numerous occasions since 2019.
The Red Carreras car, adorned in Ferrari Librei Complete, was followed to a property in the town of Buk, about 60 km (37 miles) southwest of Prague, after the last sighting to the police was reported.
The video emerged on Sunday morning showing the distinctive car that leads along the D4 highway and stopped for gasoline.
The driver, a 51 -year -old man, was arrested at his house and detained after briefly refusing to leave the vehicle.
The video images captured by the local media showed him sitting in the car in front of his garage, arguing with the officers and saying they were invading private property.
Finally, he gave up and agreed to be taken to a police station to interrogate him, still with the outfit and helmet of his red racing driver.
According to the reports of the subsequent media, he refused to answer any question when he got there.
A man identified as his son told local media that the house had been surrounded by several dozen police cars and a helicopter, in what he said it was a disproportionate response “to an alleged traffic violation of our.”
He said that the police “supposedly saw us tow a Formula 1 car that, according to them, had been accelerating along the highway a few minutes before, of course, we know absolutely nothing about this.”
Police managed to talk to the ghost F1 Driver in 2019, when the images and video of the car on the highway began to appear online.
They rake the vehicle and interrogated their owner, who denied having driven him on the highway. It is not clear if that is the same person that the police have arrested.
Because the driver carried a helmet in the videos and photos, they could not be identified and the police could not take the matter beyond.
The vehicle has frequently described as “a Ferrari car formula 1”.
However, according to the Auto.CZ website, in fact it is a Dallara GP2/08, a racing car developed by the Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in the GP2 series, a food series for Formula One.
Since then, the contest has been renowned as the FIA Formula 2 championship.
Regardless of its exact origin, the owner now faces a fine for driving a vehicle on the highway without headlights, indicators or numbers.
