Isak breaks the silence about the future and says that “you can’t continue” in Newcastle

Alexander Isak has finally broken his silence about his future in Newcastle, saying that “trust is lost” and that “cannot continue” in the club amid a sustained interest in Liverpool.

In a statement published on Instagram, Isak, who was voted in the Professional Association of Footballers (PFA) of the male team of the season for 2024/25, but has not been part of the preseason or the beginning of the new URACAS campaign, said that the promises were broken and “the change is in the best interests of all.”

The statement said: “First of all, I want to thank my teammates and everyone in Newcastle United who has supported me on the way.

“I am not in the ceremony tonight. With everything that happens, I did not feel correct to be there.

He said: “I am proud to be recognized by my fellow professionals with a place in the team of the PFA Premier League season by 2024/25.

“I have kept silent for a long time, while others have spoken. That silence has allowed people to boost their own version of the events, although they know that it does not reflect what really said and agreed behind closed doors.

“The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. Now acting as if these problems were only emerging is misleading.

“When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. That’s where things are at this time, and why change is the best for everyone, not just myself.”

Liverpool has been strongly linked to Sweden striker this summer. The Reds saw an offer of accessories of £ 110 million more rejected by Newcastle in early August.
