Amorim confirms that Sesko is available to start in the first game against Arsenal

The Manchester United Chief Ruben Amorim, confirmed that the new striker Benjamin Sesko is ready to start against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Red Devils get their new Premier League campaign in Old Trafford against their old enemies, after having ended behind the Gunners last season.

But this summer, Amorim has added to Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to the ranks, in an effort to take the club to the level at which they are accustomed.

Speaking at his first press conference prior to the season’s game, he said: “I am very happy, I think it has great potential, you can play different types of football.

“I can see Ben as a striker for Man Utd for a long period, which is why we pay so much money to have a striker who has a story in this club.

“We didn’t have much time, but he’s ready, he’s physically ready, that’s a great component in our league. He’s ready to play, we’ll see if it’s going to start.”

We want to return to Europe, but it is difficult as UTD coach to say such a thing.

“We are going to fight for it. We are going to improve, we want to focus the game for game.”

Bruno Fernandes will once again lead the side as a captain in 2025-26, and hopes that the center of attention will be in the team this term, instead of it.

Amorim agreed with his leader’s statement, but admits that he still wants him to play a leading role.

He added: “Even last season when he played as a midfielder, he had more shots near the box.

“I think it’s good for Bruno to remain in a position. Then he is winning many things.

“I want Bruno near the ball and that is really important for our team, but sometimes we need Bruno near the goal. We will try to organize the game for the best players in the best positions.”
