The Serbian said: “I am very happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level. Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”
Petrovic spent last season in Strasbourg, helping them with a seventh place in Ligue 1 and winning the award to the club’s season player.
He had been linked to a transfer to the newly promoted president of Soccer Operations of Sunderland and Bournemouth, Tiago Pinto was delighted to have taken the 25 -year -old Vitality Stadium.
Pinto said: “I am really happy to bring Djordje to the club. The opportunity to sign a player from his caliber in the market was one that we had to take, particularly given the vital position of a goalkeeper.
“We have been looking for the right talent to invest within this area of the field and Djordje has very impressive qualities, as well as a lot of experience for someone who is still young. We are excited that he is the one who comes to join our project and we hope to work with him.”
Petrovic is the third arrival of Bournemouth’s summer after Adrian Truffert of Rennes and Junior Kroupi, who spent the second half of last season on Lorient.
