Twisted Metal Season 2 Trailer Finally looks like the original video game (and it’s crazy)

UP Bulture: Season 2 of “Metal Twisted” is accelerating its engines for a summer return. The first “Twisted Metal” season was a total explosion, but now, high octane chaos is hitting the gas, exploiting things and, according to the last trailer, delivering the correct dose of chaos that fans have been desired. The original Peacock transmission series, inspired by the vehicular combat video game of the same name, combines anger on the road, explosions and black humor on a trip exclusively without ties, but avoids the same narrative ornaments that affect other adaptations of video games to series. If you were a teenager (or between great parents) at the end of the 1990s or the early 2000s, it is most likely to play with the “twisted metal” religiously or knew someone who used exclusively the generation of D-GENERATION X T-shirts that would not shut up on the sweets and their Páramo ice cream truck. And yet, against wind and tide, the series has become one of the most unexpectedly funny adaptations in recent memory.

Created by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, along with the Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, the series is starring Anthony Mackie as John Doe, the delivery of the joke, along with Stephanie Beatriz as quiet, a fierce survivor and sharp tongue with his own mysterious past. The first season was an unbridled road trip through an USA. This means that season 2 will focus on the tournament organized by Calypso (Anthony Carrigan), aligning the series with the game with which fans are more familiar. And oh boy, is it? wild. I never thought that the Axel character (Michael James Shaw) became his own vehicle in live action, but Peacock loves us and wants us to all be happy.

Just out of his performance as a metamorpho in “Superman” by James Gunn, Carrigan is putting his best gothic wig in the middle part to take Calypso, the creator of the Twisted Metal contest, to life. The prize for winning the tournament is that Calypso will award any desire to the winner, because he is blessed with powers of another world. However, it is also a monkey leg, generally punishing the winners with their own desire through a form of twisted irony. As the trailer, John Doe and Quét indicate they hope to win so that they can wish that all the walls that separate the different communities are demolished, allowing the “strangers” to finally have a taste of equity.

The underground themes of the program are undoubtedly important, but for a show based on “Metal Twisted”, it would not work without exaggerated violence or amazing explosions. Fortunately, this tournament is not stopping its detonations. If you have been chasing the taste of the top that can only be fulfilled by films led by George Miller, “Twisted Metal” guarantees you that you get on.
