Atlético de Madrid has to quickly recover from its opening mauling from Paris Saint-Germain when they face the Seattle Sounders in the World Cup tomorrow.
Diego Simeone’s men were repossed 4-0 by European champions at Rose Bowl on Sunday with defender Clement Lenglet also sent for two yellow cards.
It was a discouraging way to start the tournament and the clash with the side of the MLS is a must, especially with Botafogo to come.
It will not be simple with the Sounders playing in front of their local fans, but, on the positive side, it is likely that the temperature will be colder in the northwest of the Pacific than the weekend when the start of the lunch time in Los Angeles hindered the conditions.
“The hard defeat for the PSG forces us to obtain good results,” Simeone admitted. “The goal difference is difficult, four goals are a lot. We are focused on the game against Seattle on 19. We knew there may be turbulence on the road and there was.”

A man anxious to impress Simeone is the obedas Vargas of the Sounders, who became an Atlético fan after associating his history of helpless when trying to achieve Alaska’s football relative to the fight of the rojiblancos for the supremacy with the Spanish Powers Real Madrid and Barcelona.
He told the club’s website: “When all the other teams saw my Alaska team (they would think)” they are garbage, we would overcome them. “And I always had a helpless mentality, where I was going to show these guys that we are not so bad. And I (I wanted) to show these guys that I (it was) better than them.
“Atlético de Madrid are helpless, all the time. And when I lived in Alaska, I began to see them, especially in the 2014 Champions League final. And I think it correlates with my own story.”
The 19 -year -old midfielder is excited to face his ingenuity against the winners of the World Cup Rodrigo de Paul, Julián Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann, but insists that he will not do any favor.
He added: “It means everything. I do not know what alignment they will get, what the players are going to play, but only play against them and see the shirt, the crest, play against them will give me an additional motivation to give everything.
“I can tell you one thing: I will not be a fan every time we touch them. I’m going to do everything I can to overcome them.
“I think the advantages we have is that we are playing at home, playing in Seattle, and we are playing in our stadium. I think we need to use that to feed.
“It is clear that there are different levels for the game, but we (we need) take this as an opportunity to demonstrate that people are wrong, compete and demonstrate it more than anyone else.”
The Sounders played well against Botafogo in their first game of Group B, but fell to a 2-1 defeat.
It is unlikely that coach Brian Schmetzer will deviate too far from the initial XI who faced Brazilians.
Simeone has more depth in his squad and can shake things after his game of exhaustion against the PSG.
Lenglet is suspended while Griezmann can rest after looking by Sunday. José María Giménez is likely to enter four with Alexander Sorloth forming a striker two with Álvarez.
The very experienced Kake could also begin at the expense of Samuel Lino.

Seattle Sounders versus Atlético Madrid begins at 11 pm, time of the United Kingdom, tomorrow at Lumen Field. It can be seen in Dazn through its television and transmission devices.
It can also be seen in the Bet365 application.
In a mandatory game for both parties, we fancy the physicality of Atlético to win.
They were poor against the PSG and Simeone will excite them and should spoil the party in Seattle.
Prediction: Seattle Sounders 0-2 Atlético Madrid
