Israel is ready to lose the deadline on Tuesday due to its withdrawal from Lebanon, as established in the Alto El Fuego agreement last November, and its army announced on Monday that it would remain in five “strategic” locations within the Lebanese borders. The newly elected Lebanese president Joseph Aoun said that his government was working to achieve a complete Israeli withdrawal “diplomatically”, while approximately 100,000 people remain internally displaced in the country.
