YouTube Shorts is integrating with the latest Google Deepmind video model, I see 2, which allows creators to generate AI video clips for their publications.
I see 2 is Google’s response to Sora, the OpenAi video text generator. YouTube, owned by Google, has already allowed creators to generate AI funds for their shorts with a text message through a feature called Sream Screen. But I see 2 will allow creators to generate independent video clips to add any of their shorts.
According to a blog post by the director of YouTube products, Dina Berrada, these AI tools will be executed faster than before.
“I see 2 better understand the physics of the real world and human movement, which makes its production more detailed and realistic,” Berrada wrote. “You can even specify a cinematographic style, lens or effect, making the dream screen an easy and fun way to express yourself.”
To indicate that these videos were made using AI, they will use the Deepmind Synthid tool, which water brand and identifies the content generated by AI. YouTube also declared that these videos will be clearly marked as made with AI, but these labels do not completely mitigate the potential damage to share synthetic content that can deceive viewers.
To use I see 2 on YouTube shorts, creators can open the Shorts camera, select the green screen and then sail to the Dream screen, where you can enter a text message to generate a video.
This feature is launched on Thursday for any creator in the US., Canada, Australia or New Zealand. YouTube plans to expand access later.
