The parents of an American-Israeli hostage called for President Donald Trump to ensure the release of the remaining hostages taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023, after Hamas released three Israeli hostages fragilely during the weekend.
Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, whose son Hersh Goldberg-Polin was killed by Hamas in August after almost a year in captivity, said they were grateful to President Trump and the special envoy of the United States to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

Jon Polin added that his son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, and five other hostages killed by Hamas, were also found malnourished and “skeletal” when Israeli troops discovered their bodies last August.
While his call to the world leaders said at the time of his son’s death, “it didn’t work,” he was sure Trump and Witkoff were heading in the right direction, while repeating his wife’s plea for a rapid action.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin And five other hostages were killed by Hamas terrorists last August shortly before Israeli troops arrived in the tunnel where they were arrested in southern Gaza. The Israeli troops recovered the six bodies of the tunnel, and Israeli forensic experts said they had been shot at a short distance after surviving almost a year in captivity.
