Hamas said Monday that he postponed the release of Israeli hostages planned for this Saturday “until new notice”, accusing Israel of not sticking to a complex high fire agreement between the two parties.
In a brief statement, Hamas spokesman accused Israel of violating several aspects of the fragile agreement to stop the war in Gaza, which entered into force three weeks ago.
As part of the agreement, Hamas has been releasing Israeli hostages in exchange for the liberation of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
There was no immediate response from Israel.
During the last three weeks, Hamas has released 21 hostages in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
