The Union Cabinet approved the continuation and restructuring of the ‘Indian Skill Program’ of the Central Sector scheme until 2026, with a budget of RS. 8.8 billion rupees for the period from 2022-23 to 2025-26.

During an informative press session, the Minister of the Ashwini Vaishnaw union emphasized that this decision highlights the dedication of the Government to develop a qualified and prepared workforce for the future through training throughout the country based on demand, enabled by Technology and aligned in the industry.

PRADHAN MANTRI KAUSHAL VIKAS YOJANA 4.0

The PMKVY 4.0 initiative offers training development training aligned by NSQF through short -term training (STT), including special projects (SP) and Reskilling and improvement through prior learning recognition (RPL) for people from 15 to 59 years. PMKVY 4.0 has been renewed to ensure that skills training is oriented to industry, in line with national and more accessible priorities.

An important change in the program is the incorporation of work training (OJT) in short -term training courses, providing participants with practical experience and exposure to industry practices. To address the evolution needs of various industries and advances in technology, more than 400 new courses have been added in AI, 5G technology, cybersecurity, green hydrogen and drone technology, focusing on emerging technologies and essential skills for the future.
