Evaluating the performance of a coffee maker is more complicated than it seems. You need to know what a good filtered coffee is and, according to the Special coffees associationThere are essential criteria for a good beer elaboration. The preparation time and water temperature lead the list. Hot water must be in contact with the earth for at least four minutes and no more than eight. The ideal water temperature range is between 197 degrees Fahrenheit (92 degrees Celsius) and 205 degrees Fahrenheit (96 degrees Celsius).
To see how well each coffee maker faces that challenge, we record the duration of their preparation cycles. We also use thermocoup heat sensors connected to industrial degree data registrars. This allows us to register the temperature within the coffee grounds while preparing.

We measure the temperature within the preparation chamber of each coffee maker we try.
After preparing the coffee, we drink sample readings of the coffee fluid produced with a Optical refractometer. Since we take into account the amount of newly ground water and coffee used, these data allow us to calculate the percentage of total dissolved solids of each preparation. From there we reach the extraction percentage. It is commonly thought that the ideal range is between 18% and 20%.
We also support the measured data with a good old flavor test. Excessive coffee has a bitter and spicy taste, while coffee extracted is little is usually weak or sour. Without a doubt, we perform identical tests at least three times to have an idea of the average results.
