Rapaport, 54, is a noted Bravo fan, adding, “That’s the sober James Kennedy we all want to see.” (Kennedy stopped drinking alcohol in 2019.)
According to the former Bachelor, he was “the only one” who witnessed Kennedy’s interaction with his friend.
“Ten minutes earlier, I met this guy who he introduced as his best friend and then 10 minutes later he’s barking orders,” Viall said Thursday. “It was incredible. I really felt like I saw something beautiful and I was the only one who saw it. “Everyone else was in their own lane.”
Viall also had a positive interaction with Kennedy when they formally met.
“I told him last night, apart from Ariana (Madix), He finished with the highest grades,” Viall said, referring to Vanderpump Rules bringing in a whole new star cast for its upcoming season 12. “It peaked at the right time.”
Rapaport agreed, noting, “He’s doing well and I wish everyone the best.”

Us weekly confirmed on Thursday, Dec. 12, that Kennedy was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges following an alleged altercation with an unknown woman the same night as Hilton’s party. He was released on $20,000 bail.
A witness said exclusively Us that Kennedy seemed to be in “very good spirits” at DIRECTV’s “Christmas at Kathy’s” party in Los Angeles.
“(James) and Ally were hugging and taking photos,” the source said. Us. “He seemed to be in a good mood and was dancing, singing and having fun.”
A second informant, however, recalled Kennedy “running” around the party and “causing a scene.”
“His friend was chasing him from Kathy’s basement to Kathy’s backyard, and James seemed angry as he ran away,” the second source claimed. “The guy who was chasing him almost fell into the pool and dropped a flashlight in the pool causing a big scene. “Everyone was wondering what was going on.”
Kennedy’s lawyers addressed the situation in a statement on Friday, December 13.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” the statement said. “We understand that there were no injuries and we hope that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
